Hot Apple Cider Smoothie

A warm, cooked breakfast is always the best for helping your Qi get going in the morning, and a warm smoothie is a great way to get the protein, fat and carbs you need to start your day. This recipe combines the flavors of apple and cinnamon for a classic hot apple cider taste.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup packed kale

  • 1 cup packed kale

  • 1/3 peeled cucumber

  • 1/2 banana

  • 2 Tbsp melted coconut oil or ½ avocado

  • 1 quarter-size slice of fresh ginger and/or turmeric

  • 2 scoops protein powder

  • 8-12 oz. hot water

  • Dash of cinnamon

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Makes 2 meal-sized servings + is gluten free, enjoy!
