Acupuncture stimulates production of collagen-the protein that gives skin its youth and elasticity. Each acupuncture treatment boosts collagen production for 2-3 days, so we do treatments twice a week to get as much turnover as possible each week. It takes 5 weeks for collagen to completely renew and set, so we give you 2 treatments a week for 5 weeks. In a little over a month, you'll get noticeable results. It's that fast!

On your first appointment, we evaluate your skin and do a full health assessment to identify underlying imbalances that might contribute to aging. You also get your first cosmetic acupuncture treatment.

At your third appointment, your practitioner will go over your personalized holistic health report and address specific imbalances that might contribute to aging. We may recommend herbs or skin care products and suggest dietary changes that will ensure you get the most benefit from your treatments.

At every treatment session, we insert tiny needles into the face or neck. We also include whole-body acupuncture with every session to reduce the internal causes of aging. Because of our whole-body approach, we can usually address one or two additional concerns (like anxiety or sleep) along with cosmetic treatments.

No! You can walk out of our clinic and go about your day as usual! Nobody will be able to tell you had a procedure done that day.

Because the treatments are so extensive, we only have time to focus on the face OR the neck. There are different protocols for each. We will work on your jawline during either protocol however since that's a common transition area women are concerned with. If you start with the face protocol you can always come back for a second round to address the neck, and vice versa. In fact, many women are so happy with their results they end up doing both!

Cosmetic acupuncture is a safe and natural alternative to Botox. However, cosmetic acupuncture and Botox work by very different mechanisms.

"Cosmetic acupuncture" is not a regulated term. Any protocol that places needles in the face can be called cosmetic acupuncture. Our clinic has extensive training in a specialized approach to anti-aging called Mei Zen Acupuncture. We have also developed clinic-specific techniques that all of our practitioners share.

The Mei Zen protocol calls for the use of 100 points on the face or neck at each treatment. This level of detail means we can fill in crow's feet, frown lines, drooping eyelids, a sagging jawline, and a wrinkled neck. Other clinics follow facial protocols that only use a handful of points. That will give you a general lift, but nothing more. Our protocols promise a level of detail and results you will get nowhere else.

One enormous benefit of cosmetic acupuncture is that there is no downtime. You can walk out of the clinic and go have lunch with your friends. There may occasionally be slight bleeding or bruising after a needle is removed, but side effects are minimal.

Cosmetic Acupuncture is contraindicated for some pituitary disorders, heart disorders, uncontrolled high blood pressure, individuals with pacemakers, bleeding or bruising disorders, and for those who currently suffer from migraine headaches. Cosmetic Acupuncture should not be performed during pregnancy, during an allergic reaction, or during an acute herpes outbreak. We'll evaluate all of this during your initial consultation.
